What ScamShield looks for

Nepal sees a steady stream of SMS scams that impersonate trusted brands and services, including:

  • eSewa, Khalti — fake "KYC verification" or "account suspended" links
  • Nepal Telecom (NTC), Ncell — fake recharge offers and balance scams
  • Nabil Bank, NIC Asia Bank, Global IME Bank — fake security alerts
  • Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) — fake unpaid-bill threats
  • IRD Nepal — fake tax/refund notices
  • Generic OTP harvesting, fake KYC links, customs/parcel fraud, and fake loan offers

ScamShield checks every incoming message against patterns like these — in Nepali (Devanagari script), English, and Romanised Nepali.
